How to Make a "This Is Your Life" Video

Please sign the guestbook if you found this site particularly useful.  I love hearing those stories.  Note that I had to change the settings to only let people who sign up as members post on the guestbook because spammers were starting to post notes on here.  Sorry for the hassle from that extra step.

Hi victor

you are an angel sent from heaven.. i have spent hours online searching on how to start a video on the life story for my dads 75th bday in Manila , Philippines . My dad is very terminally ill .. and we want his birthday to be memorable for him.
I had few ideas but i cant get my brains to work and dont know where to start . Tonight I came across your website and my search is over .All the things i need is in this website. I couldnt ask for more ..
I thank you very much for this website. .you are heaven sent to me .
My only problem is that my parents grew up poor so they hardly have photos let alone can afford videos .. I am trying to get resources from my relatives and see if they can help me .
but thank you so much for your website.

Way to go Victor, the DVD was terrific. I wish my mother was still alive so I could give her this wonderful gift. I watched it like any tough, macho, in control male - with tears of joy.

The video was the highlight of mom's birthday celebration. Family and friends laughed, cried, and reminisced while watching. The video is a very special gift, which will be enjoyed over and over.

I love the way that you explained the process of making your film for your Mom. I'm working on something similar for a friend. I just got to figure out how to get the music to play in the background. But it is fun learning it. You have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing. Tamra from Missouri

Hi, I was just looking around and trying to figure out freewebs and came across your site. I was trying to figure out how to add as a friend but couldn't and decided to sign your guestbook. Very interesting info and must check it out later. I got hooked on movie maker and made some picture slideshows of my family and golden retrievers and they are on my site. Not very good but it was fun and my mom loved her remember when video of us kids growing up through the years.

Hey, I just passed by this site and it actually is a great idea... I have a laptop from 2005, and I really think it would be a good idea to make a video for my mom, or my dad... I sure will save this site in my browser's favourite list, and come back to it when it's a couple of months left for my mom or dad's birthday!

Thank yo

Patty (signed below) is my Mom. We totally surprised her with the movie. We had both her siblings there for the unveiling. It was something special.

As a child, I dreamed of being in just one movie. That dream did come true when I turned 65. It was indeed a long wait, but watching my life unfold on a TV screen with my family beside me, was truly a highlight of my life thus far. Thanks for the memories.

Victor, I cannot thank you enouch for the help with creating the DVD for my Mother's 80th birthday! It was fantastic! The DVD was filled with pictures and music from her 80 years - it was quite a celebration of her love, life and laughter!!! She loved it and so did my brothers and sisters!!! Your instructions on your site were exactly what I needed to get me started - and you help and interest along the way thru the process was invaluable!!!!

My Mom and family was/is in awe of what i've created...and quite honestly, i'm in awe too! It took some time to get the finished product just the way I wanted it, but it was so worth it in the end. The final DVD was put together so well and thoughtfully. It was a true labor of love...one i'll be proud of for years to come....

Again, I want to thank you for your concern and positive emails and reinforcement along the way!

You kept this little engine plugging away, even when I felt frustrated! I really appreciate your support!

I really hope others find this site and use it for all it's great ideas and knowlegde!
Regards!!!
Chrissy
